Vertical blockmoulds

Blockmoulds in vertical orientation have become the state-of-the-art systems in the last 15 years, seldomly you see horizontal blockmoulds, the exception being systems with variable length and width.

Of course there are major benefits compared to the traditional horizontal moulds :
vertical systems are space saving, in most factories the blocks are stored vertically anyhow, so you do not need a tilter, construction is less expensive, all in all a better bargain than a horizontal mould.

so why would you coose a horizontal block mould ?
Maybe for the following reasons :

* you need a large cavity with e.g. 6.0 x 1.6 x 1.2m
* you want automatic adjustment of length and width in the same mould
* your building is not high enough

Filling may be also quicker with horizontal moulds because of multiple fill points, one large fill gun or two small ones per meter length of the block.

Maintenance may also be easier: who wants to clean or change screens 8m above the ground ?
